Environmental Science Intern needed in the Greater Kansas City area for an environmental consulting and testing company.
We are looking for an Environmental Science Intern to join our team this summer of 2025! Duties will include supporting environmental investigations, sampling and technical writing.
Candidates must be comfortable working in a highly regulated, detail-oriented environment where strict adherence to rules and procedures is required at all times.
Our Environmental Science Interns will gain invaluable knowledge from industry professionals, along with a letter of recommendation at the end of the summer. You will benefit from working with our highly trained and educated scientists, and technical specialists. We will provide mentorship and hands-on training in the field and laboratory.

IN THIS JOB, YOU WILL:
- Assist with industrial hygiene and environmental site sampling of hazardous materials, utilizing various sampling equipment and techniques.
- Work with a team utilizing MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS OneDrive and MS 365 to coordinate work and assist on comprehensive report writing.
- Perform environmental investigations and learn to interpret analytical data.
- Provide secondary support to other departments at EcoSafe, including project oversight and environmental consulting.
- Work directly with project managers during client consultations to answer questions about various environmental services.
- Receive a certificate for NIOSH 582 proficiency for air sampling and conduct data analysis using Phase Contrast Microscopy.
Skills/Abilities:
- Must be self-motivated and dependable.
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 pound equipment.
- Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs, and tall ladders to monitor components.
- Must be able to respond to last minute schedule changes.
- Must be comfortable speaking with clients.
- Proficient writing skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Basic mechanical skills/mechanically inclined.
Required Qualifications:
- Seeking Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology or related degree.
- Strong oral and written communication, client relations, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work 25-40 hours a week.
- Valid driver's license.
- Reliable transportation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15/hr, plus mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use.
Work Location: Multiple locations across KC area and beyond.
Pay Frequency: Twice monthly on the 1st and 15th of the month.
Schedule Varies:
- Monday – Friday (8 hour shifts) 8am – 5:00pm
- Monday – Friday (8 hour shifts) 7am – 4:00pm
- Occasional weekends/evenings
- (Schedule subject to change as needed)
